Derek Lam brand was founded in 2003 and Derek Lam 10 Crosby collection was launched in 2011. Derek is from San Francisco, California and attended Parsons School of Design. He has been recognized by the CFDA, the Smithsonian Institute and The Fashion Group International. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of FIT, Kennedy Center and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

In June 2011, Lam presented a new advanced contemporary line Derek Lam 10 Crosby. "My idea for this collection is to reach a woman who desires clothing that will carry her through every aspect of her life, from the more formal, go to work occasions and also for the more informal aspects of her life. It really reflects the style and sensibilities which I see all around me, whether it be right out my window, on Crosby street, in Los Angeles or Dallas.
